Cadiz man dies after ATV crash at motocross

Associated Press - May 26, 2009 9:25 AM ET

CROFTON, Ky. (AP) - A Cadiz man has died after an all terrain vehicle crash during a motocross event.

The Kentucky New Era newspaper in Hopkinsville reported 35-year-old Bobby Dewayne Wilson initially declined medical treatment after the incident Saturday night at the 800 Motocross Park track in Crofton.

Track owner Steve Ezell said Wilson was wearing his helmet at the time of the crash.

Wilson was later taken to Jennie Stewart Medical Center, then transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., where he died.

The cause of death wasn't immediately available, but the newspaper quoted the ambulance report stating Wilson had trouble breathing during transport to the hospital.

Funeral arrangements were pending at Sykes Funeral Home and Crematory in Clarksville, Tenn.
