CROSS PLAINS, Tenn. (AP) - More than 75 horsemen from across the country will be given wild horses this weekend to train.
The mustangs will be turned over to them Friday and Saturday at the Wild Horse and Burro Center in Cross Plains, Tenn., north of Nashville near the Kentucky border.
The trainers will compete in the first Extreme Mustang Makeover competition Oct. 23-25 in Murfreesboro to see how well they trained the horses.
Most of the animals were gathered in Nevada and other Western states. The Mustang Heritage Foundation and the U.S. Bureau of Land Management are partners in the event.
