Posted: Updated:

OAKLAND, TN (WMC-TV) – Ten people suffered minor injuries in a school bus accident late Tuesday afternoon near Oakland.

Myles Wilson, Superintendent of Fayette County Schools, said the bus was traveling along a narrow stretch of Wirt Road when it slipped into a ditch.

Twenty-two students were on the bus at the time of the accident.  Fayette County Sheriff Bobby Riles said ten people on board bus were injured, and one child was rushed to the hospital because of blood pressure issues.

Wilson said parents of students on the bus were quickly notified about the accident.  Wilson said none of the injuries were serious.
