COVINGTON, TN (WMC-TV) - A 93-year-old Covington man was nearly beaten to death with an iron skillet during a robbery at his home.
Lonnie Craig says the female suspect left him with cuts, bruises and a cracked skull.
He called police after he regained consciousness.
"I was just thinking, 'why would a person do what she did to me?' " he said.
Covington police say the suspect was likely looking for quick cash and targeted Craig because of his age. No arrests have been made, but police say they're looking at two persons of interest.
They say Craig's robbery is similar to two other robberies of elderly victims in nearby Ripley, Tennessee.
Authorities are hoping a cash reward will help them find the woman responsible. If you have any information that can help police, call (901) 475-1261.
