LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas lottery officials are preparing for the launch of Powerball ticket sales this weekend, a game they expect to bring $58 million to the state.
Lottery officials are marking the start of Powerball ticket sales on Saturday night with a party in Little Rock's River Market District featuring a countdown and a ball drop at 10:15 p.m. That's when the state can begin selling the first Powerball tickets for Wednesday night's draw.
Arkansas' lottery launched Sept. 28 with the start of scratch-off tickets. Powerball is played in 30 states, the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands.
