MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - A city audit shows Memphis and Shelby County could be owed about $600,000 from a seat-use fee at FedExForum.
According to the audit, arena officials did not collect the $1.15 seat-use fee on 511,003 complimentary tickets given to events at FedExForum between 2005 and 2008. The fee is used to pay for bonds issued to finance the arena.
According to The Commercial Appeal, the audit recommends that the city attorney's office determine if the money can be collected.
Arena officials said they have tried to resolve the matter and believe complimentary tickets do not require a seat fee.
