Marshall County woman raped while changing flat tire

BYHALIA, MS (WMC-TV) - Marshall County investigators are trying to find the rape suspect responsible for a brutal attack along the side of a Mississippi road.

The attack happened Tuesday around 10:00 p.m. on Highway 309, where the was victim stopped near the bridge at Coldwater Road with a flat tire.

As the victim was changing her flat tire, a truck pulled up behind her and a man got out, offering to help. The victim told the man she did not need help, and he started to walk away.  But then, the man grabbed her from behind and pushed her against the car.

According to an incident report, the victim said the suspect punched her in the face, pulled her pants off, and raped her.

The suspect was described as white man with a beard and mustache, wearing glasses. The victim said he smelled like cigarettes and gasoline, and drove a noisy pick-up truck.
