CROSSETT, Ark. (AP) - A former Crossett police officer has been sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to four criminal charges.

Forty-1-year-old Darrell Webb was sentenced in Ashley County Circuit Court Monday after pleading guilty to second-degree forgery, theft of property, conspiracy to deliver cocaine and laundering criminal proceeds.

Investigators say Webb approached a known local drug dealer and asked him to give him cash and to sell cocaine for him in exchange for not pursuing a criminal investigation. The drug dealer then went to police.
