Myron Lewis, M.D., F.A.C.P., M.A.C.G.

Dr. Lewis is a native of Memphis, Tennessee, and was born at the Baptist Memorial Hospital. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, and earned his M.D. degree at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. He did his internship and first year residency at Vanderbilt University Hospital and completed his residency and GI training at Cornell Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Lewis spent two years in the U.S. Public Health Service in Louisville, Kentucky, prior to returning to Memphis and joining Dr. Wruble to form the Memphis Gastroenterology Group, P.C. He is a former member of the Board of Trustees of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and was also President of the American College of Gastroenterology. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Tennessee and was Co-Director of the Gastrointestinal Laboratory at Baptist Memorial Hospital. He was Chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine at Baptist Hospital from January, 1997 until December, 1998.  Dr. Lewis was Chief of Staff at Baptist Memorial Hospital in 1985 and continues to be active on committees, both the national level of the American College of Gastroenterology and locally at the Baptist Memorial Hospital. He became a Master of the American College of Gastroenterology in October of 1992. He is one of the first twelve physicians nationally to receive this honor. He also serves on the editorial board for the Journal of Gastroenterology.  Dr. Lewis has been selected by his peers to be included in "Best Doctors in America" each year since 1994. 

Dr. Lewis and his wife, Gail, have three daughters: Robin, Tracey and Joelle, and four grandchildren.
