We've got an emotional homecoming between a four year old boy and his family. Johnny Quinn was burned in a shed in his back yard last November. Since then, he's been at a Shriner's Hospital in Texas with his mom.
"This is a special day in a great grandmother's life." With signs, balloons and heavy hearts, 4-year old Johnny Quinn's family anxiously anticipated his homecoming. "There he is ...it feels great. Look at him." He's home for the first time in seven months. "I'm glad to be home." Johnny has been in a Shriner's Hospital in Texas recovering from burns to 92-percent of his body. "I miss my daddy and sisters." And they miss him. "Give me a hug big boy. I'm glad to see you. You had a good flight didn't you." After all the hugs and hellos at the airport, and showing family members he can run and jump, Johnny had two things on his mind, going home and eating. "I'm hungry." At home Johnny reunited with the rest of this brothers and sisters. His mom, who has also been gone, is happy to see her other nine children. Once at home, Johnny disappeared. He went straight to the back yard to see what was left of the burned shed that almost took his life. It was gone, replaced with a new one. Johnny's parents say he often has bad memories of that day. For the short time, he will be home. They hope to cloud those bad memories with laughter and good times.
Johnny will be home for ten days, then he'll head back to Texas for more surgeries. His family says he survived the toughest surgeries, but will undergo several more for the next fifteen years. They plan to eventually move to Texas to be closer to him.
