Memphis police are investigating a deadly domestic dispute that ended with two officers shot and one of them dead.
It was all part of a love triangle involving the officers. The case is now under review by the Shelby County District Attorney's office.
They are awaiting the death report from the Medical Examiner. Meanwhile, we learned more about the officers through their personnel records on file at 201 Poplar.
After four years on the force, Officer Teresita Watson's personnel file shows an almost spotless history. It lists one minor accident involving her police cruiser last year with no disciplinary action.
However, her ex-boyfriend, Officer Jeremy Kyle's three year history with the department is dotted with oral and written reprimands, even a three day suspension.
His infractions included missing roll call, missing a dispatcher's call, and careless handling of police equipment.
Neither officer's personnel record made any mention of two past domestic incidents in which Sheriff's deputies were called to the house the couple once shared in East Shelby County.
Officer Kyle moved out of the house on Breezy Gate in January.
Authorities say he returned Sunday morning with a gun threatening Officer Watson and another man in the home at the time, Justin Davis.
Police say Davis grabbed his own gun and fired three shots, one grazing officer Watson, the other hitting Officer Kyle in the chest, killing him.
Authorities say it is unlikely any charges will be filed against Davis because this appears to be a case of self-defense, however that is ultimately up to the District Attorney.
Funeral arrangements for Officer Kyle are still pending.
