Tattoos for toys makes for a big Christmas

Updated:

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - It was a little bit different from most toy giveaways.

One business was offering free tattoos for toys.

It may be different but it brought in piles of free toys for kids in need.

The House of Ink in Frayser partnered with several other businesses to collect toys by offering free tattoos to anyone who brought in a new toy.

For many of the tattoo artists it meant giving up hours and hours of their time and a lot of ink.

Tattoo artist said, "This is unheard of that a group of tattoo artists would give up their income for an entire week or whatever it took to amass the amount of toys for these children.  It's just amazing."

They gave the toys away Thursday morning at the Horton Gardens Apartments in Northaven.

This is the third annual Tats for Toys event.
