We've been here before with University of Memphis Football..
Maddeningly slow starts followed by frenetic fast finishes good enough to earn lately what some Tigers fans feel are mediocre bowl game appearances.
The Fans are tired of it...so is the Head Coach..
The Problem now is, some fans are getting tired of the Coach..
Tommy West sees it...
He hears it.
He says he understands it's comes with the job when you get off to a 1-and-3 start 4-years in a row.
West says HE can take it... But what about the players?
No doubt, they hear all the criticism levelled at the Man charged to lead them.
Defensive Lineman Josh Weaver says "It's difficult to hear when fans don't like the Coach, or want him out. We have to play better because we know he's the man for the job."
Adds, Wide Receiver Duke Calhoun, "Coach West is like a Father to me.. I want him to know we've always got his back."
West says, "I have to tell the players don't worry about the stuff they hear going around. There's nothing they can do about that... What we have to do is keep focused on the Big Picture. We know what we're trying to accomplish. We've just got to keep at it."
West and the Tigers can even their Conference USA mark with a win at Central Florida Saturday.
Kickoff is 2:30pm.
