For Deidra and the three other finalists, the final assignment was to cover the unveiling of the worlds largest children's book, which will raise money for  St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Actress Marsha Gay Hardin is the honorary spokesperson for the book, which features a collection of dreams submitted by children from around the country. It was the kid reporter's job to interview the film star, as well as Noah, whose dream in the book is about video games.

The winner of the contest will be unveiled on Thursday!

Friday, November 6, 2009:

Deidra is in New York, hard at work for her final segment for the contest, and we have a little more info about the voting process...and the prizes in the contest!

Viewers can log on to TODAYshow.com starting Monday at 9:30 a.m. ET until Wednesday at 5 p.m. ET to vote for their favorite pint-sized reporter.  On Thursday, Nov. 12, the winner will be revealed live on TODAY. The champion journalist will receive the TODAY’s Kid Reporter title, plus get a weeklong vacation on Carnival Cruise Line's newest ship. The three runners-up will also receive the cruise.

Thursday, November 5:

Deidra was on Today this morning to receive her final assignment in the contest.  If you missed her segment, click here to watch!

Wednesday, November 4:

Just a few days from now, Deidra Shores will have one last chance to impress voters in her quest to be the Today Show Kid Reporter.

Today, Deidra and her mom will head to New York to make another appearance on the Today Show tomorrow morning.

Then on Monday, November 9th, Deidra and the three other finalists will present their own stories for viewers.

We are going to follow Deidra every step of the way and we will let you know when you can start voting for her again.

Producers at the Today Show tell us Deidra's appearance will be during the 9:00 a.m. hour of Thursday's Today show.
