COLLIERVILLE, TN (WMC-TV) - A crowd gathered in Collierville's historic town square Sunday to honor the men and women of the armed forces.
This Wednesday is Veteran's Day, and organizers hope the event will become an annual tradition.
This year, World War II veterans in attendance received special honors for their bravery and service.
"We've come together as a community to honor them and to say 'thank you, thank you for your service.' And that's the least that we can do for them, for the sacrifices that they've made," said organizer Dianne Hight.
The event featured a flyover of World War II aircraft, a former prisoner of war guest speaker, and a musical reenactment of that era in our nation's history.
