MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - A bank robbery suspect who barricaded himself inside an East Memphis home was taken into custody Friday night following a 5-hour standoff.

Police believe the suspect is the same masked, wigged man who robbed a Trust One Bank near Poplar and Kirby Friday afternoon.

The suspect locked himself inside a home on Lynnbrier Avenue in an upscale neighborhood west of Baptist Memorial Hospital.

Police said a tracking device inside the money bag led authorities to the suspect.

Heavily-armed officers surrounded the property Friday night, which stood in darkness after MLGW was ordered to cut off power to the home.

Some nearby homes were evacuated.

The suspect was taken into custody around 10:25 p.m. without incident.
