BENTONVILLE, Ark. (AP) - A Garfield man has been arrested for hindering apprehension or prosecution in the disappearance of his mother and grandmother.
Bentonville police say in a news release that 18-year-old Nicholas Johansen was arrested at a manufacturing plant in Rogers where he worked. He was booked into the Benton County Jail Tuesday pending a bond hearing.
It was not clear whether he has an attorney.
The release says Johansen gave inconsistent statements during the investigation into the disappearance of his mother - 40-year-old Christina Bishop - and her mother - 81-year-old Louise Bishop.
The two women were last heard from June 18 when Louise Bishop's nephew spoke to her by phone. The nephew - George Skupien - discovered the two missing when he went to Bishop's home June 20.
