OLIVE BRANCH, MS (WMC-TV) - A two-year-old Olive Branch boy came to his mother's rescue last Friday when he helped her give birth.

According to his mother, Bobbye Favazza, it was a fairly typical birth, except for the fact that her son Jeremiah, 2, actually helped with the delivery, which happened on the family couch.

"He just went and said, 'Mommy you need a towel,' and he brought me a towel," she said. "He sat right there beside me and pushed the baby on out."

Favazza said she was in pain the night before, but thought it was just pressure, not labor.  She did not expect to give birth Friday because her due date was still two weeks away.

"And what's really unique is I was supposed to have a C-section, because I had a C-section with all my other kids, and had this one regular," Favazza said.

Paramedics arrived moments after the birth to cut the umbilical cord. Favazza calls Jeremiah her little hero, and the one child she has who will try anything.

Grandma Leigh Favazza, who was on the phone with her daughter during the delivery, said she was not surprised Jeremiah took action.

"He's a little go-getter," she said. "He's not afraid of anything."

The baby, which Favazza named Kamron, is her fourth child. Both mother and baby are in good condition.
