NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Some flights in and out of Tennessee airports were facing delays after a problem with the FAA system that collects airline flight plans.
At the McGhee Tyson Airport, the debut of American Eagle Airlines' daily service from Knoxville to Miami was delayed on Thursday, but officials say the system is coming back online slowly.
McGhee Tyson spokeswoman Beck Huckaby told WVLT-TV that delays through much of the morning and possibly beyond are expected.
At Memphis International Airport, a couple of flights were delayed and one AirTran Airways flight out of Atlanta was canceled. AirTran canceled at least 22 flights across the country.
Some U.S. Airways flights stopping at the Nashville International Airport have been delayed or canceled.
