MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Memphis police are searching for a suspect they say is responsible for a string of recent robberies.
Wednesday night, the suspect wore a University of Memphis sweatshirt during the robbery of a Subway on Kirby Parkway. He pretended to be a customer before pulling out a handgun, pointing it at an employee, and grabbing wads of cash from the register.
Police believe the same suspect has robbed at least six restaurants or individuals since the beginning of the month.
"It appears he's striking business people have to park away from," said Michael Embry of the Memphis Safe Streets Task Force. "There are no parking spaces immediately in front, so the businesses weren't able to see a getaway vehicle."
The suspect is six feet tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds.
