KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The autopsy of an East Tennessee high school football player who collapsed during a game shows that he had a heart problem that contributed to the death.
Eighteen-year-old Jack Logue, a senior at Sullivan South High School, collapsed after about three quarters of the game on Aug. 21, and was later pronounced dead at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
Emergency responders said he had gone into cardiac arrest. WBIR-TV reported Thursday that the Knox County Medical Examiner's office says he died of natural causes because of a problem with the bicuspid aortic valve.
A memorial service in Kingsport drew 1,400 people.
