JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - The Smithsonian's traveling exhibit of artwork by Jim Henson, creator of the Muppets and Kermit the Frog, will be display at the Mississippi Museum of Art in Jackson beginning Dec. 19.

A native of Leland, Miss., Henson, who died in 1990, came up with characters that have enchanted and educated several generations of children through programs like Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock and Between the Lions.

The museum will add an exhibit on how Mississippi Public Broadcasting has used puppetry in their productions.

Jim Henson's Fantastic World features 100 original artworks, including drawings, cartoons and storyboards. It also includes puppets and television and movie props.

The exhibit runs through March 14, 2010.
