2 remaining Tunica County murder suspects surrender

The two remaining suspects in the weekend murder of a Tunica woman surrendered Monday afternoon at the sheriff's office.

John Bowman and Brandon Hamilton have been on the run from deputies since the slaying on Sunday.

Police say Troyzie Woodard was shot in the back outside the Robinsonville apartments Sunday morning during an attempted armed robbery.

Tunica County authorities captured Marcus Vaughn and Tyrone Wade and they are now in custody.

Woodard, 42, was shot in the back Sunday morning on the west side of the Robinsonville Apartment Homes on Hambrick Road.

The Tunica County Sheriff's Department believes robbery was the motive for the killing.

Woodard's family was planning a trip to the Mid-South Fair but now they must plan for a funeral. Their day of fun was flipped upside down.

Authorities say after Woodward was shot, ran, only to get shot several more times. And some 50 yards away, he collapsed.

"We don't know if it was random or specific at this time. The case is still under investigation," says Tunica County Sheriff's Department Spokesperson Larry Liddell,

The case is under investigation, but with good leads. Police say two suspects are still on the loose, John Bowman and Brandon Hamilton.

Police say all four will face charges. "We are desperately seeking these gentlemen. We have good information that they are responsible for Mr. Woodards' death," adds Liddell.

A death, Woodard's sister-in-law says is difficult to comprehend.

"He was a good person. He had three kids. He got an unborn child that's on the way. He got a little three-year-old. He got a five-year-old. And they going to miss their daddy," says Tracy Butler.

His family is left behind just trying to understand why.
