Haven't we had enough "teachable moments" in politics for one year? Yes, our President, Barack Obama, is at the center of another teachable moment, but this time class is being taught by the leader of Arlington, Tennessee.

Mayor Russell Wiseman goes on his Facebook page last week to complain that President Obama is a Muslim, and that he purposely scheduled an address to the nation on television so that it would preempt the Charlie Brown Christmas special.  Wiseman continued on with his rant writing, "You know, our forefathers had it written in the original Constitution that ONLY property owners could vote, if that has stayed in there, things would be different..."

We all know what he meant by that comment. I'm sure the folks in Arlington who happen to be renters will remember that the next time they have a chance to vote for a mayor. So the teachable moment here is that whatever you write on Facebook or send in a text message or snap on a cell phone photo could come back to haunt you.

Oh, and teachable moment number two: If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.

That's my turn. Now it's your turn. To comment on this segment or anything else, email yourturn@wmctv.com or call 800-465-1210.
