Deidra Shores, the 2010 winner of The Today Show's "Kid Reporter" contest, files special reports for Action News 5.
As Kid Reporter, Deidra often travels to New York to file reports for The Today Show. Deidra's favorite assignments for NBC so far have been her interview with Shaq, her coverage of the International Toy Fair, and the naming of Carnival Cruise Line's newest vessel.
When she is not appearing on television, Deidra is a student at Colonial Middle School.
In her spare time, Deidra enjoys watching television, swimming, sewing, playing computer games, and collecting quarters. She also enjoys singing, dancing, and acting.
When asked for advice from aspiring Kid Reporters, Deidra tells them to practice often, go to as many auditions as possible, and to get help from the pros.
