The remarkable life of Dr. Benjamin L. Hooks has triggered a flood of accolades and memories for the people of the Mid-South this week. Our "Your Turn" letter echoes sentiments felt by many of us who were touched by in some way by Dr. Hooks. The letter writer is Junienne Briscoe Reed.

In her words:

Dr. Hooks inspired me as a teenager to get involved in the Civil Rights Movement and to educate myself and others as much as I could. He explained the importance of being true to ourselves and our nation.  He will be forever in our hearts and minds as the epitome of strength and courage.

That's Junienne Briscoe Reed's turn. Now it's your turn. To comment on this segment or anything else, email yourturn@wmctv.com or call 800-465-1210.
