This week's "Your Turn" segment goes to Judy Kaller. Kaller is one of several people who wrote us, upset about the hung jury in the trial of former Memphis Police Officer Bridges McRae. McRae was accused of beating a transgender prisoner while she was in police custody.
These are Kaller's words: I can't believe the jury was hung over the transgendered beating case. Didn't the jury see the video tape? That officer clearly beat the prisoner about the head and shoulders. As far as McRae defending himself, that's a joke. The prisoner only tried to defend herself from his blows. I surely hope the jury in the new trial sees the truth and gives him what he deserves. We certainly don't need those types of police officers on the streets.
