YOUR TURN: Disappointed with Action News 5

Updated: July 25, 2010 06:38 AM

The "Your Turn" mailbox this week received several letters from viewers who were unhappy with us because of different news stories that involved animals. We chose to read the letter from Gayle Ward who wrote regarding an accident that injured a horse.

In Ward's words:

I cannot tell you how horrified I was at the news of the horse that was down because of an accident and that the camera crew filmed this poor creature that was on the side of the road struggling and in pain.  I was really appalled that Channel 5 thought that this needed to be shown. I could not get this image out of my head. It makes me wonder if any of your staff have ever owned a horse and understand the pain in having to put one down.  I am really disappointed in the judgment used by the news crew in covering this story.

That's Gayle Ward's turn. Now it's your turn. To comment on this segment or anything else, email yourturn@wmctv.com or call 800-465-1210.
