Education is the tool that moves us ahead in so many ways, so it's great to see the Leadership Memphis organization launching an initiative that will make a difference here in the Mid-South.
My definition of leadership is to show the right way by going first and that's exactly what Leadership Memphis is doing with its "100 Things in 100 Days" campaign. The program is designed to increase the number of college graduates in our area.
Organizers say that just a one percent increase in the number of college bound students here could have a billion dollar impact in our community. Whatever the numbers, we all know that a more educated workforce will generate economic benefits and help people lead richer lives.
