A lot of you have been vocal this week regarding your opinions on the Memphis City Schools charter surrender and the potential consolidation with Shelby County Schools. We chose a letter for this week's "Your Turn" segment from Michael Steward.
In his words:
It is hard for me to understand the division ongoing concerning the merger of the two school systems. I have yet to hear any school board member state what would be so bad for the children. We should be more concerned with the education of the children and making Memphis and the county a better educated place to be able to recruit more business opportunities. I think the major problem comes down to this. It has always been this way so let's keep it this way. This is the 21st century. We must look for better ways to do things.
