MEMPHIS, TN -

It's been a while since we've heard this kind of enthusiasm about the Bluff City. Comments like "The stars have lined up," and "Memphis is on a roll." The excitement, of course, is all in reaction to the news that Mitsubishi Electric selected Memphis as the location for its new $200 million factory for making electrical transformers.

Mitsubishi joins Electrolux and Pinnacle Airlines in making major recent investments in the City of Memphis. These are projects that will bring hundreds of jobs to Memphis.

Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam and other local economic experts are saying that the Mitsubishi announcement will be followed up by news of other new projects coming our way.

Rudy Gay, the Memphis Grizzlies basketball star, was brought in to whip up the crowd gathered for this week's Mitsubishi announcement. He told them, "I hope you guys feel the energy in the air like I do right now." Yes, Rudy. I think we do.

That's my turn. Now it's your turn. To comment on this segment or anything else, email yourturn@wmctv.com or call 800-465-1210.
