MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - A UPS delivery worker was arrested after police said he stole packages and kept them for himself.

Mark Hill was locked up in the Shelby County Jail Wednesday.  His mugshot includes the brown collar of his work uniform after he was arrested while on his job as a UPS deliveryman.

Police said Hill stole a series of packages of prescription medicine intended for the Walgreens pharmacy at Summer and Highland.

Aware of the disappearing drugs, UPS security set up a sting with the Memphis Police Department.

They loaded Hill's truck with a dummy box for Walgreens.  Police said Hill kept the box, drove to the intersection of Poplar and Highland, parked his delivery truck and opened the box.

Investigators had been watching and busted Hill on the spot.

According to the affidavit of complaint, Hill admitted to stealing Oxycodone, Fentanyl, Morphine, Concerta and other pills.  The pills totaled $6,500 and were stolen February 1, March 1 and March 8.

Hill now faces charges of theft and possession with the intent to sell.

Hill's general sessions court record is brief and includes citations for speeding and failure to maintain a safe lookout.  He is scheduled to be in court Thursday morning.
