TUNICA, MS -

(WMC-TV) - The iconic casinos in Tunica, Mississippi remained submerged in floodwaters Monday and show no signs of receding.

"It's pretty shocking," said Scott Barber with Harrah's/Caesar's.  "I keep telling people you can't imagine it.  It is quite substantial."

Harrah's Casino expected three to four feet of water.  The water near the casino is seven and a half feet deep.

The doors leading up to the casino were almost covered with water.

The casinos are not flooded because they float, but no one knows how much damage the floodwaters have caused.

"We are concerned about asphalt parking lots, given how rapid the water is moving," said Barber.  "There could be some damage there, also to the casino entrance and hotels."

More sandbags were brought in as water continued to pour into the parking lot at Gold Strike, Horseshoe and Roadhouse Casinos, where the flooding is not quite as serious.
