MEMPHIS (WMC TV) - A sub sandwich shop in Bartlett/Ellendale, TN, and the Colonel's chicken joint in Hickory Hill have three things in common:  fresh food, friendly staffs and strict hygiene standards.

Add a fourth:  they tied for this week's High Score on the Scorecard!

Quizno's Subs, 7546 Highway 70 in Bartlett/Ellendale, earned a 95 on its Memphis-Shelby County Health Department inspection May 5.

"We just make sure we keep everything clean all throughout the day," said owner Jeffrey Catron.

"The food's always fresh, and Jeffrey's always smiling," said Collierville, TN, customer David Burch. "So the combination makes it irresistible."

KFC, 6262 Winchester Rd. in Hickory Hill, also scored a 95 on its inspection May 4.

"It's all about good, hard work and clean service," said KFC's Hickory Hill manager RP Williams.

"The customer service, they're always very nice and courteous," said customer Felicia Wilburn, ordering lunch for her Hickory Hill work crew.

LOW SCORE OF THE WEEK:

Pyramids Grill & Buffet, 6090 Macon Rd., hangs from the wrong end of the Scorecard for the third time in three years.

The Indian buffet earned a 74 May 5 with a food permit suspension notice:

"(inadequate) sanitizer level (for dish-washing)"

"pipes over cook line dripping on to cook surfaces"

"food-handler...handled food without washing hands"

Inspector wrote "DIRTY" 8 TIMES to describe store conditions

Pyramids Grill & Buffet has failed its health inspections twice since 2008, once with a 62, then again with a 55 (please read those Scorecard reports here:  http://www.wmctv.com/story/9193047/restaurant-scorecard-october-16-2008 and http://www.wmctv.com/story/11926865/andys-rest-scorecard-goat-fail-plus-scores-as-of-12410).

This time, when we called, the phone number was disconnected. A sign posted on the entrance said "Closed for Renovations." Neither owner Iffet Tameez nor manager Marsha Moore could be reached for comment.
