DECATUR COUNTY, TN -
(WMC-TV) - Psychic Carla Baron gained national attention on the cable television show "Haunting Evidence" and said she felt an immediate connection to the disappearance case of 20-year-old Holly Bobo.
"As soon as I saw here eyes in a picture, as soon as I saw Holly's eyes, I knew," said Baron during a phone interview with Action News 5 from her California home.
Baron said a friend of the Bobo family sent her an e-mail weeks ago on their behalf desperate for clues in the case which started when Bobo's brother claimed he saw a man in camouflage lead Holly into the woods near her Decatur County, Tennessee home.
"I don't write to families, I don't call them," said Baron. "They contact me."
May 13 marks a month since the nursing student vanished and since her mother made a tearful plea for her safe return.
"Please help us find her," said Karen Bobo during an early news conference.
Hundreds of people have since volunteered in an exhaustive search. But Baron said she believes the family ended discussions with her this week about psychic assistance because, in part, the TBI advised against it.
"I think they're just terrified to hear what I might have to say," said Baron.
Baron said she would never dash the hopes of the Bobo family and only reveal information that might help bring them closure.
"I have a sense of what's gone on there," said Baron.
The TBI would not comment on whether they advised the Bobo family not to use a psychic.
