ARLINGTON, TN -
(WMC-TV) - A Shelby County gym coach was out on bond Sunday after she was accused of having sex with students at Arlington High School.
Stacy Hopkins, 28, was arrested for a second time this week after a third student came forth.
Earlier this month, two male Arlington High School students, ages 16 and 17, came forward and told detectives they were involved in a sexual relationship with Hopkins.
A third male student, 17, also came forward. He said the sexual relationship with Hopkins began early this year. Investigators said cell phone records support the third student's detailed account.
An affidavit of complaint said Hopkins' ex-boyfriend reported her illegal relationship with two of her students. He went to the high school after he discovered she had sent nude photos of herself to their cell phones.
Neighbor Melissa Powell said Hopkins' ex-boyfriend came over to her house after making the discovery.
"He seemed really upset," said Powell. "You could tell he was really distraught. About five minutes later she comes in. She looks upset, she looks worried."
Hopkins is on unpaid leave from Arlington High School. She has taught P. E. at the school for six years.
Powell said the situation is sad for everyone involved.
"They've been together for 11 years," said Powell. "I know he loves her. They've been together since high school."
The student told investigators each encounter took place at Hopkins' home in Cordova. Neighbors said they had not seen any teenagers at the house.
"She's got to pay the consequences for her actions," said Powell. "Hopefully get some help and get through this."
Hopkins was also the assistant junior varsity basketball coach at Arlington High School.
The company's left a 15-state trail of phony book and magazine sales. Andy Wise followed its trail to a $1/2 million house in a gated community off Holmes Rd.More >>
