MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - A "Sea of Blue" waded through downtown Memphis streets to honor fallen Memphis Police Officer Timothy Warren Thursday night.

Watching from the air in Chopper 5 was Warren's sister, Dondi Jackson.

"We've just lost such an amazing human being and I hope people touched by his life will take on the charge and spread some of that goodwill," said Jackson.

On the ground, people lined Union Avenue in front of the DoubleTree Hotel where Warren was shot and killed as he answered a call about another shooting at the hotel.

"I wanted to be here first because it just touched my heart," said spectator Tracey McKinney.

Spectator Lewis Edwards' mother is a Memphis Police officer.

"It shows how close they are," said Edwards.  "A family, the 'Sea of Blue,' and how much they've been through."

As hundreds of officers from departments all over the Mid-South passed by in the "Sea of Blue," Warren's sister had a message for him.

"I love you, little brother," she said.
