YOUR TURN: No raises for poor performers - Action News 5 - Memphis, Tennessee

This week's "Your Turn" segment comes from the Action News 5 Facebook page. Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam got things stirred up there when he decided not to give pay raises to poor-performing state employees. Some Tennessee state employees have not received raises in a long time so this got people riled up on both sides.

We chose a letter from Judy Crowder Howell. In her words:

As a retired state of TN worker, I'd like to say it is about time someone finally stood up for those of who worked hard and did the right things. We always said you could work hard and get a 2% raise, or you could just sit and collect a paycheck and get a 2% raise. Thank you, Governor Haslam for showing some spunk.
