MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - A Memphis mother is up for parole after plowing over three children in a drunk driving crash nine years ago.

During Monday's video conference parole hearing, Christina Morgan said she didn't remember her drunk driving accident nine years ago that killed two children and severely injured another child.

"I don't recall that, because I had cerebral trauma to my head," she said.

Malcolm Williams and Edgar Akpotu, both 12, died within a few days of each other, while 12-year-old Jake Overzet survived.

At the time of the crash, Morgan was driving on a suspended license and her blood alcohol level was .12. The legal limit is .08.

Monday, Morgan said she wants to be a vet, and became a Christian in prison.

Morgan had a previous DUI, a DUI theft and shoplifting convictions. Relatives of the victims said that shows she was already a habitual offender at age 25. She's now 34, and they want Morgan to stay in prison.

"I feel that I have forgiven you," said Deborah Jenkins, the mother of one of the crash victims. "But I feel that you should do the time because you took the life of two 12-year-old boys and they had such promising futures."

At one point during the hearing, Morgan took a napkin and wiped her eyes and nose, but no tears appeared to be showing. It was unclear if she was laughing or crying.

The victims' parents described Morgan's demeanor Monday as detached and aloof.

"She waved to her family and smiled at them, but there was no reaction to us," said Edgar Akpotu's mother, Maria,

"I don't feel that she was that remorseful," added Malcolm Williams, Sr. "But I can't tell what's in her heart."

The boys would have been 21 this year.
