(WMC-TV) - This week's "Your Turn" segment comes from our Facebook page. Sondra Frazier is one of many parents who are upset about the pending merger of Shelby County and Memphis City Schools.
In her words:
I just want to make sure I am understanding this correctly. Memphis City Schools couldn't manage their money, their board, their schools, or their students, so MCS declared defeat and surrendered their charter and now the children and parents in Shelby County Schools are going to be punished by having the same incompetent people who failed in MCS come run SCS? When one company goes bankrupt and is absorbed into another company I have never heard of the bankrupt company getting any say so in how the "merged" company is run. Why would MCS get any so say in how the county system is run?
That's Sondra Frazier's turn. Now it's your turn. To comment on this segment or anything else, email email@example.com or call 800-465-1210.
