MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - I hope taxpayers in Southaven, Mississippi are burning up the phone line and email of their mayor, Greg Davis. The State of Mississippi had to send an audit team to Southaven to review Davis's expense reports for the last two and a half years. What they found was little or no verifiable documentation.

That might not be such a big deal except for the fact that Davis had burned through more than $170,000 of taxpayers' money since his last election. The items attracting the auditors' attention included a trip to Key West, Florida and wardrobe purchases.

And then of course, there's the matter of the psychological counseling the mayor received at an upscale facility in Scottsdale, Arizona. The mayor likes to say that this is the same counseling that the city offers to all city employees. People of Southaven, if your city can afford to send all of its troubled workers to Arizona for counseling sessions, you're paying too much in your city taxes.

If you are a Southaven taxpayer, feel free to give Mayor Davis some additional counseling.

That's my turn. Now it's your turn. To comment on this segment or anything else, email yourturn@wmctv.com or call 800-465-1210.
