Jerica Phillips joined the Action News 5 team as a Multi-Media Journalist in July 2011. She reports for the 4pm, 5pm, and 6pm newscasts. Previously she worked as the WMC-TV evening Assignment Editor, Web Reporter, and Content Specialist.

Jerica is a native Memphian who grew up in North Memphis. She's a graduate of Millington Central High School. In 2008, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Communications and Broadcast Journalism from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She's a proud member of the Zeta Delta chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

While in Knoxville, Jerica worked for the NBC affiliate, WBIR, where she was a reporter for UT Today. She also produced news segments for WUTK radio.

Upon moving back to Memphis, she interned with WMC-TV in 2008 and started her professional career in June 2009. Jerica looks forward to the challenges of being a Multi-Media Journalist where she shoots, edits, writes, and reports her stories.

In her free time, Jerica enjoys spending time with her family, eating great Southern food, and traveling.
