NOVEMBER

Friday, November 23 – Monday, Jan. 7, 2013: Dominion GardenFest of Lights; 5 – 10 p.m. Dominion GardenFest of Lights is a holiday tradition featuring more than a half million lights, botanical decorations, trains, holiday dinners, family activities and more. This year's theme is "East Meets West" focusing on the rich array of plants and decorative arts of Eastern cultures that have influenced Western traditions. See what's new. Weekly recurring activities include: Merry Mondays with storytelling; Caroling Tuesdays with Barbershop Quartets strolling and singing; Crafty Wednesdays with craft activities for families; and Musical Thursdays with acoustic music in the Library.

Friday, Nov. 23: GardenFest Illumination
Doors open 5 p.m.; ceremony and entertainment 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.

Join the GardenKeeper as we kick off the start of Dominion GardenFest of Lights! Celebrate this year's East Meets West theme with entertainment by the River City Taiko drummers and a show by the Jow Ga Kuen Lion Dance Team. 

As part of an ongoing commitment to help feed the hungry, Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is also highlighting FeedMore's Central Virginia Food Bank on the opening weekend Nov. 23 - 25. Guests can donate to FeedMore at Garden admissions desks. Each dollar donated gives visitors the chance to win a Garden family membership and provides 5 meals to feed hungry children, families and seniors in our community. A winner will be drawn each of the three nights.

Thursday, Nov. 29: Dominion GardenFest for Fidos; 5 – 10 p.m. On this special night only, leashed pets are allowed; suggested $2 pet admission benefits the Richmond SPCA. Also Jan. 3.

DECEMBER

Saturdays in December: Saturday Brunch with Santa  RESERVATIONS ARE FULL

Sunday, Dec. 16; Greater Richmond Children's Choir; 4 - 6 p.m. Included with regular Dominion GardenFest of Lights admission; special performance for visitors' enjoyment.


Monday, December 31: New Year's Eve Family Frolic; 2 – 5 p.m. Family activities in the afternoon with live entertainment and crafts. (GardenFest of Lights in the evening from 5 – 10 p.m.)

FEBRUARY
Thursday, February 14, 2013:
Tea House Valentine's Dinner; Treat your loved one to a special Valentine's dinner! While you are here, stroll through the warm and cozy Conservatory featuring exotic orchids. The Garden's Conservatory will also be open the evening of Feb. 14 for before or after dinner strolls. For reservations please call (804) 262-9887, ext. 329.

Feb. 14 – March 31, 2013: Orchids Galore! Daily Dazzling color, intoxicating fragrance and exotic beauty -- Orchids Galore! features hundreds of orchids on display in the Conservatory.
