Consumer Reports: Best Pocket Camcorders

Posted: Updated:
MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC TV) - These are the top-rated pocket camcorders, according to the testers at Consumer Reports:

KODAK'S PLAYSPORT Zx5 (TOP-RATED). Water-proof, shock-proof, and the best video quality of the 16 camcorders tested. Consumer Reports also rated it a "Best Buy" at $150.

ZOOM Q3 HD. Best audio quality of the camcorders, but pricey at $300.

SONY BLOGGIE DUO. Testers liked this one because of its dual LCD screens, front and back.

VIEWSONIC DVP 5. Praised for its built-in projector. Video can be projected straight from the device to a screen or wall. "That's a neat feature, but the overall picture quality was not that great," said Terry Sullivan of Consumer Reports.

Consumer Reports also tested an array of 3D pocket camcorders, but none of them rated well enough to be recommended.
