(WMC-TV) - This week's "Your Turn" segment comes from the Action News 5 Facebook page where people are commenting on the Germantown High School principal who offended some parents with a presentation on student test scores.

The principal gave the scores to the students broken down by race. Not everyone was offended. We chose a comment from Misty Harrison-Dotson. In her words:

"My child goes there and also fits one of the groups the principal mentioned. It starts at home. Then, it's up to my child to do what is expected of her, period. She was not offended because I have raised her not to find some kind of excuse not to do the best she can. The world can be an ugly place and I as a parent have given her the tools to handle it when she is on her own. Nothing is ever given to you. You have to work hard and make good choices period. And sometimes you have to put a little fire under some to motivate them."

That's Misty Harrison-Dotson's turn.

Now it's your turn. To comment on this segment or anything else, email yourturn@wmctv.com or call 800-465-1210.
