A political meeting so volatile that police are called to the scene, accusations of bribery, a move to unseat the chairman of the Shelby County Commission and of course, someone has to bring up the issue of racism.
What could get all of these dedicated public servants so riled up?
Well of course, it would have to be a debate about redistricting.
That's it.
All of this drama is simply about drawing the maps that will decide whether these fine elected officials get to keep their jobs. Talk about self-serving.
How about putting a little of this time and energy into the issues that are really important to the people who elected you to these jobs?
If these Shelby County Commissioners keep behaving like this, it really won't matter to them how the district maps get drawn. That's because voters will going to be to the polls to vote for anybody but them.
That's my turn. Now it's your turn. To comment on this segment or anything else, email yourturn@wmctv.com or call 800-465-1210.
