MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - There's a wild new place opening in Memphis that is fun for kids of all ages and it's unlike anything you've ever seen.

The owner of the new trampoline park says Sky Zone Sports is just what this city needs, a family friendly environment where people can be active, have fun and stay fit.

First thing's first, all participants must sign a waiver to start jumping

Then it's time to strap on your sky shoes.

"They're high-tops so they give good ankle support," Chris Avery, co-owner of Sky Zone. "They're optimal for the trampoline because they're flat on the bottom."

Unlike many backyard trampolines, the 30,000 square foot facility is designed so that no one can fall off.

"The walls of our trampoline - are trampoline," he said. "They can't put their feet or hands or anything through the springs."

The sky is the limit if your joy is jumping, but there are policies in place for your protection.

"We have court monitors to ensure the safety of our guests as well as to make sure people are following the rules."

Avery said fitness classes will begin soon at Sky Zone and those classes will include something called "rouncing."

"It's a combination of running and bouncing," he said. "It's more like a gallop on the trampoline."

There's also sky slam basketball which is for folks who can't dunk on a normal goal.

There's also dodge ball and a six-foot deep a foam pit.

And it's all designed so that instead of watching the kid's play from the sidelines like most parks, parents can jump right in on the fun.

"This is a great opportunity for families to come and be active and that's what Memphis needs," said Avery.

Skyzone is located at 5355 Distriplex Farms Drive in Southeast Memphis. Prices range from $10 to $30.
