MEMPHIS, TN -
(WMC-TV) - A nasty crash took one person's life on I-55 early Monday morning.
It's unclear what factors were involved in the fatality because the wreck happened when the roads were dry and clear.
Investigators say a pickup truck and a semi truck collided in the northbound lane underneath the Wisconsin Avenue overpass, killing the driver of the pickup.
Officers are continuing their investigation and there's no word if the weather played a role.
"I look for hazardous driving conditions for three or four hours this afternoon and evening," said Bob Nations, director of the Shelby County Emergency Management Agency.
Nations is urging people to slow down on the roadways as wet winter weather is expected to do a number on Mid-South roadways.
"The more vehicles you have, the more likely you'll have the accidents and then late tonight after these freezing conditions - then most likely our roads will offer another challenge," he said.
