(WMC-TV) - Tennessee State Senator Ophelia Ford launched a verbal assault this week on the nursing profession.

She said nurses had been mean and hateful to her and that her hospital stays were horrific.

It's not surprising that area nurses are not amused by Ford's latest rant.

We chose one of the nicer responses for this week's Your Turn from Marie Stewart. In her words:

"We work very hard in a stressful career to take care of people when they are sick and need assistance. We work holidays, weekends, and night shifts. We leave our children with babysitters to take care of your family members not because we have to, but because we are dedicated to the nursing profession and truly care about people. This career is the best choice I ever made and I wouldn't change a thing. We should stop once in a while in our busy lives and think about all those who fight for us, protect us and care for us when we need them most."

That's Marie Stewart's turn. Now it's your turn.
