JACKSON, TN -

(WMC-TV) - One person is dead and 20 others were injured after an early Sunday morning shooting at a nightclub in Jackson, Tennessee.

Jackson police want to question two men in connection with the shooting.

Authorities said 19-year-old Lecarlos Todd of Memphis, who attended Lane College, was shot to death inside Club Karma on West Main Street.

"It makes me sick to my stomach," said Jackson resident Donna Overstreet.  "I mean, it's horrible."

The shooting happened around 2:00 a.m.  According to a written release, there was an apparent dispute between several individuals inside the nightclub before shots were fired.  Evidence so far indicates there were at last three people shooting handguns.

Investigators said of the 20 people injured, 18 were shot.  Two others, a 17-year-old from Memphis and a 20-year-old from Millington, were trampled by a frantic crowd attempting to escape the gunfire.  They were treated and released.

"I would not have expected it to happen," said Overstreet.  "Now a lot of things do happen, but I would not have expected it to happen right here."

At least three people remained in the hospital Sunday night.

Karma Lounge was reportedly hosting an event advertised as a Lane College and LeMoyne-Owen College after game party.  However, the party was not a college sanctioned or sponsored event.

If you have any information about the shooting, call the Jackson Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit or Crime Stoppers at (731) 424-8477.
